We drove to the top and started hiking down it, we got to one point and he said that's what he wanted to paint. I said ok cool I'm gonna walk off the trail and explore some. I found a small cave about 50 yards from the trail. I climbed in it and waited for a bird. This waxwing was the only bird I saw. My settings were still set from the last time I was out, which was after sunset. My camera settings were way off of what I normally shoot with and I thought I blew it. After looking back at it, it became one of my favorite shots. Pretty much everything is wrong with it, but I think this is one I'll be remembered for. AJ also told me that many stories from The Bible happen on mountains, especially when a man encounters God. This was minted at Plaine, a coffee shop in Alpine, TX.
