This NFT collection is centered around the beauty of opposites. For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to the merging of opposites~ in art, fashion, architecture, Yoga, nature and beyond. In the art world we call this “merging of opposites” contrast or sometimes the juxtaposition. Contrast is when opposite elements are arranged together to create harmony, balance, appeal, complexity. We can find this in light and shadow play, textures, complementary colors, geometric and organic shapes and more. In Yoga we call this Yin and Yang. The masculine plus the feminine, the solar plus the lunar energies, power and peace, strength and grace, expanding and contracting.
This NFT collection is created from physical paintings that have been transformed. The background of each piece is a highly edited and morphed kaleidoscope version of an original 2D artwork and layered over this is a seemingly unedited subject from the same painting. You can still make out the individual brushstrokes and the painted textures on the canvas on these seemingly unedited subjects. By merging physical paintings into the graphic design realm I have transformed each piece in a new and unique way, while still keeping the simple and beautiful integrity from the original work of art.
