The Final Blow - Victory Down Lane 2 By Tom Laughlin (Lewis Stone) and George F. Brown (James Whitmore) - The film deals with the Battle of Bunker Hill on Christmas Eve 1944. Laughlin plays Henry B. Cooper, who is on his death bed, and Brown's assistant, D.W. Faulds. Brown is shot in the head while leaving home after a night of drinking. B, however, is rescued by Laughlin's friends, who then play a card game with him - all he wants is a share of the winnings from the Battle of Bunker Hill, but an identical amount from the other gambler, which is why the game is a draw - no two people win, and then B is taken away by an escaped assailant. Brown tells Cooper that he won the bet for the gun, that it is the winning hand at the end of the night, and that F. is a con man. The Battle of Bunker Hill itself had been shot in a film camera that was still out in the desert during the making of the film and which still holds all the original footage. B decides to return to B's hometown, where he learns that the police will be closing the old neighborhood because the old film's location is being taken down, and that every time he returns, he will be the one to blame. F. is forced to compete in a game of cards against Cooper, while sending him to the police as an accomplice. Cooper is also given the gun that was also in his pocket. The chase continues as Cooper goes to a nearby quarry, while F. shoots the quarry. F. then finds him on Mount Carmel, and Cooper gives the gun to him.
