This game was played between The Legend Frank Marshall and Levitsky in 20-07-1912 from the event DSB Kongress-18 Meisterturnier-17 in Breslau (Wrocław). The Reason why this game is called the Gold coin game is because after the move 23....Qg3!! by Frank Marshall, Levitsky resigned the game as whatever he plays in the next move he either would get checkmated or would give Marshall a decisive advantage, So After that move 23...Qg3!! by Marshall the audience showered gold coins on the board out of so excitement, this is the reason why this game is called the Gold Coin Game or it is also known as "American Beauty". In this game Marshall had black pieces and Levitsky with white pieces.
