I created this piece as a form of self art therapy. I am a person who loves to help others, but this summer it came time for me to shift the focus on myself. I spent time healing childhood traumas, and working on my mental health. It's difficult to give to the world if you first do not take care of yourself. I find the sunflower is a representation of myself, so in this piece, the flower isn't facing the world. I adore bold colors, which you can see in this brightly colored piece.
