The Leica M4-2 Gold is a limited-edition rangefinder camera released in 1979 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Oskar Barnack’s birth, the inventor of the Leica camera. Only 1,000 units were produced, each plated in 24-carat gold and featuring an engraved signature of Oskar Barnack along with the dates “1879-1979.” The cameras were paired with a matching gold-plated 50mm f/1.4 Summilux lens, and the body was adorned with a luxurious snakeskin covering.
