Michele 'fredrico' D'Acosta is a contemporary artist born in England and of African, Caribbean, and European heritage. They create art to evoke a visceral sensation of sanctuary, a visual pause button in contrast to the chaos in the external world. An interdisciplinary artist working in mediums including NFTs, videography, painting, fashion and AI; they are captivated by surrealism for inducing escapist visions of the extraordinary in the ordinary. Recipient of numerous Arts Council England grants; their work has shown in galleries in London, Athens, Milan, New York, and Los Angeles. From 2017-2019, they were Artist in Residence at the National Trust exploring LGBTQ+ Heritage and its contemporary implications. Their work has been featured in The Colour of Madness: Mental Health and Race in Technicolor, an anthology published by Pan Macmillan. They invite you to step inside their way of seeing.
