Vincent van Gogh (March 30, 1853 - July 29, 1890) -Dutch Post-Impressionist painter. -Although highly famous today, in his time he was considered a failure and never achieved success as an artist. -One of his most famous works, Starry Night, was completed while in an asylum. -Cut off the lobe of his left ear during an argument with painter Paul Gauguin.
